"Scientists discover meditation significantly reduces the risk of heart attacks"

We all know that excessive stress can be a major factor in heart attacks, but how can you reduce stress in your life? There are many techniques and lifestyle changes you can employ to reduce stress, but perhaps the most powerful is meditation.

During a nine-year study doctors have proven that meditation can reduce the risk of heart attacks in patients with heart disease by nearly fifty percent!

The study was performed by researchers from the Medical College of Wisconsin in Milwaukee in collaboration with the Institute for Natural Medicine and Prevention at Maharishi University of Management in Fairfield, Iowa.

Transcendental Meditation, as reported by Rebecca Smith of The Telegraph, "...practised by the Beatles and based on an ancient tradition of enlightenment in India, involves sitting quietly and concentrating to focus the mind inwards by silently repeating a mantra. The practice is said to induce inner peace by allowing thoughts to flow in and out of the mind."

Director of the Center for Natural Medicine and Prevention, Dr. Robert Schneider, said: "Previous research on Transcendental Meditation has shown reductions in blood pressure, psychological stress, and other risk factors for heart disease."

Through this website and my upcoming book I stress the incredibly positive effects meditation has had on my life. Much of my recovery from severe social anxiety can be attributed to learning how to meditate and becoming comfortable in silence.

I encourage everyone to learn how to meditate... a peaceful mind can be yours.

Cheers!
