Take a Walk

Most of us in today's Western society are busier than ever. We are given nearly impossible deadlines and overbearing workloads to deal with. And what's the result?

MORE AND MORE STRESS!

Many of us are so caught up with making deadlines and overloading ourselves with work, that we dismiss the possibility of taking a break - if even for 5-10 minutes. "I'm just too busy to take a break, I have too much to do."

If this sounds familiar, this is a clear sign you NEED a break! Overloading the mind is no different than overloading your physical body. For example, if you wanted to climb Mt. Everest, would you try to do it without stopping for a break along the way? Of course not! Yet every day many of us insist on skipping lunch breaks and eating at our desks instead of getting away for a short while and giving our minds a rest.

The best thing you can do is get away from it all, and go for a short walk. This gives the mind a much needed rest, allows you to relieve some stress through physical activity, gets your heart rate up and your blood flowing, and the fresh air really does wake you up and feels great.

Another great benefit to taking such breaks is that when you return to your work, you will be MUCH more focused and efficient, and be able to accomplish far more than had you not taken the break.

Cheers!
